Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on the 10th of March, 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she started. NRT purchased it for $66 million in 2001. Corcoran soon exited the company. Corcoran is among ABC's original Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared on each seasons of Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts until February, 2020. Her biggest deal was her investment of $350,000 in Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second child of ten in a Catholic Irish working class family. Florence, Corcoran's mother, was a housewife. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a skilled worker throughout Corcoran's childhood. The family relied on food delivered by an artisanal local grocery store for free food. Corcoran recalls that her father was an intoxicated man who would sometimes treat her mother with condescension and disrespect, particularly after the fact that he was drinking. Corcoran struggled through her schooling before discovering that she had dyslexia. Corcoran entered high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after having attended an Catholic elementary school. Corcoran who was in the process of failing numerous classes in her first year of high school, was transferred to Leonia High School. There she received a grade of D.
